Luscious Lassi

Mango Lassi   Looking to serve something cold and healthy this insanely hot summer, here it is, Mango Lassi . Refreshing and great thirst quencher! All you need , 1 cup mango pulp( just taken out of the refrigerator) 1/2 cup yogurt pinch of salt(optional) Honey to sweeten  or sugar  Blend everything together for a minute or two. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding sugar or honey. If you find it too thick add a little bit of milk and  blend. Drizzle some honey and serve in chilled glasses! When you buy mangoes in bulk you  could  store your mango pulp in the freezer. And  when you need them take it out of the freezer, let it thaw a little  and use it  immediately to make some luscious lassi!. Thank you for stopping by .......

DIY- Cake Stand

Easy DIY Cake Stand This was super fun to to put together!  I found this idea in pinterest . And always wanted to give it a go. Target , Kmart all got  cute plastic plates,plenty during summer, and all dollar stores usually got these. Or just rummage in the clearance pile. I got my clear glass like plates and martini plastic cup  from Target $1 each.  I had bought this red plates ages ago from Coles ages ago, just to serve snacks. When  I came across this idea i popped back to Coles looking for a matching  red plastic melamine tumbler . All you need is to glue the plate and the tumbler together using a hot glue-gun.  Creative ideas to make use of your cake- stand . Bake a cake or some cookies, place it on the stand and wrap with some cellophane and tie bow. And it would be great gift for a friend or a teacher. Fold Up Homework Center As our kids begin the new school year , they do with a sense of excitement and anticipation. You can bring  back the study mood by setting up a back to school workstation! Here is a back to school project you can do with your child,and he or she is going to love this. This a great inexpensive project if you have a big sturdy cardboard box.  If you have got more than one kid and they have to share a room, this fold up homework center is  great. Your child is going to love his own space  and can focus on his/her homework in a busy room. This DIY cubicle is sure to make a fantastic study space for your kid . Things you will need. Large Cardboard box Utility knife Coloured duct tape or decorative tape Extra long rubber bands Binder clips glue-tacks How to 1.Cut up a large box with a utility knife, removing the bottom, top and one long side. Trim the height, then cut the sides of the cubby creating a slopes for the sides. 2

Custard Buns

 Custard Buns I came across these soft, sweet and delicious custard buns which are available at my local shopping centre, from BON BON bakers, they were so lovely and I wanted to give it a go. This recipe calls for a basic sweet dough, and custard is used as a filling. Sweet Dough Bread flour 500g 2 Eggs 50 g Butter 3tbsp   caster Sugar 1tsp Salt  2 1/2 tsp dry yeast 1/2Luke warm Water+ 1/2 cup warm milk   Custard Filling 40g Sugar 2 eggs 20g plain flour 20g corn flour 210g milk 40g butter  1/2 tsp salt For the Filling To make the filling sift plain flour and corn flour..   Mix well with beaten eggs. In a saucepan heat milk, sugar and salt and stir.  Add the egg mixture and stir until thickens remove from heat and stir in butter and chill.  Reserve 60g of custard in a squeeze bottle (I used a squeeze bottle instead of a piping bag) for the spirals. For the Buns Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Make a well in the centre. add the milk

Chocolate Rose Cupcakes

Chocolate Rose Cup c akes Who doesn't like a chocolate cupcakes. Both young and old are sure to  enjoy a creamy chocolate cupcake. These Rose Cup cakes are pretty and easy to do with little practice. Practice piping roses on a white plate using 1M Wilton tip or regular rose tip. Start piping the swirl from the center of the cake without lifting, in one go.  For a quick delicious chocolate fix you can use a box chocolate cake mix. Recipe for  the Cupcakes Ingredients 1 box chocolate cake mix 1 cup butter milk instead of water  1/2 cup vegetable oil as per box  4 large eggs 1. Pre heat the oven to 175C. Line the muffin tray with patty-pan cases. 2. Combine all the  ingredients in a large bowl. use the buttermilk instead of water(the recipe on the box calls for water).  3. Beat with an electric mixer until moistened , about 30 seconds. Increase the speed to high and beat until thick, 2minutes longer. 4.Spoon the batter in to cases  two thirds full.
